I generally like Indonesian coffees and was intrigued that St Lawrence Valley Roasters makes both a half caff and a decaf sumatra. I know that some brands have decafs that are less profound than the full caff, so I bought the half caff to be on the safe side. It doesn't taste half caff -- which is great! Spicy, roasty notes. Goes great with a chocolate donut. I can't wait to try the decaf next.
This is really nice. The round body of a dark roast with just enough acid to make it a supple body. Dark chocolate and black plum notes. I think it's a good dark roast for morning but it's also pleasant in the afternoon!
The most difficult thing about dealing with SLVR is that just when you think you've found your favorite bean/roast, they come up with another really good one. Our new standard house blend is now the Columbia Volcano, the Guatemala, (and/or the Papua when the wholesaler makes it available to SLVR) with the Kenya AA as the bedrock. All the others rotate in and out of the blend, but the Kenya is so good......like it says in the title: it's hard to pick one....but it's the Kenya. I guess that's why they give it two "A's".
Moondance is an awesome coffee. Bold, but not acidic, easy drinking with that bold authentic coffee taste that I truly enjoy.
I’ve never ground my own coffee. Now it’s my favorite part of the day. And I LOVE the Maple Ridge flavor.
Excellent!
1st purchase & so far loving my choices. Only tried one si far & it's very very good. Thank you!
It may be me, but I thought the coffee a little thin in the mouth feel. I lost my sense of taste due to COVID and have not recovered. I used to live in Potsdam. I "taste" everything my mouth feel. For this coffee I increased my table spoons from 4 to 5 tablespoons. Success.
Yum!
We've been all over the world and not found a blend quite like this! The name drew us in, Grateful Dead Family, through and through, but the smell of the bag when you open the purely roasted beans, the aroma of the beans freshly ground in our tiny grinder, ready for the perfect pour French press. It's an exotic and almost holy experience, appreciating your coffee, where it came from, and the art of a memorable, daily energetic support to your day! We are thankful we can still enjoy this four years after moving from the Potsdam area. It's our blend, our coffee, our morning ritual, that we thank God for-worth every penny! Thank you for this gift to us! Merry Christmas!
I just love the flavor of this coffee! I’m not sure if it’s as “good” as some single origin blends that are around but I just like it the best. I also enjoy looking at the artwork on the packaging which reminds me of one time I actually saw the northern lights
In all honesty, our favorite coffee from St Lawrence Valley Roasters varies from day to day. Today it's the Guatemala, tomorrow the Kenya, or our new favorite, the Columbia Tulima Volcano. Let's just say the road to great coffee started the day I stumbled into Jernabi and met Tim. And I am happy to report the nephews have continued to roast incredible coffee and provide outstanding service. Our favorite? Pick one.....Guatemala, Kenya, Columbia or Papua New Guinea........no matter which one you do, you won't find a bad bean in the bag.
Really enjoy the black satin blend, I'm a fan of dark roasts and this is a great one! 10/10 recommend!
I've been missing this coffee for years and it's just as good as I remember
This is your best coffee bean. Our family absolutely loves it.
Been using this blend for years and don’t plan on switching any time soon.
Love the coffee. We use it in our Gaggia. Just not wild about the shipping cost to Palm Coast, FL or Lake Clear, NY
This coffee I just tried today and was one of the best Columbian blends I have had recently. Adding this to my favorites
