More About Papua New Guinea Timuza A
The Timuza Coffee Cooperative represents over 200 smallholder farmers of the Kamano tribal group, located southwest of Kainantu in the hamlets surrounding Namura town. The soils are a mix of black & brownish red loam, with predominately traditional typica grown under casuarina and albizia shade trees. Average farm size is 1.4 hectares per family, with adjacent gardens for cultivation of food crops such as sweet potato, taro, and cassava. Farmers have received training and assistance in financial management, gender equality, coffee husbandry and standards for processing through local partners. The harvest takes place from April through September, with selective harvest of ripe cherry, manually pulping, fermentation in traditional bilum bags, washing, and full sun-drying. In 2016, Timuza placed 1st in the National Cupping Competition.

Hard to pick a favorite.....but
The most difficult thing about dealing with SLVR is that just when you think you've found your favorite bean/roast, they come up with another really good one. Our new standard house blend is now the Columbia Volcano, the Guatemala, (and/or the Papua when the wholesaler makes it available to SLVR) with the Kenya AA as the bedrock. All the others rotate in and out of the blend, but the Kenya is so good......like it says in the title: it's hard to pick one....but it's the Kenya. I guess that's why they give it two "A's".

Best Coffee we've ever had-still buying it 4 years after leaving where we could purchase it locally!
We've been all over the world and not found a blend quite like this! The name drew us in, Grateful Dead Family, through and through, but the smell of the bag when you open the purely roasted beans, the aroma of the beans freshly ground in our tiny grinder, ready for the perfect pour French press. It's an exotic and almost holy experience, appreciating your coffee, where it came from, and the art of a memorable, daily energetic support to your day! We are thankful we can still enjoy this four years after moving from the Potsdam area. It's our blend, our coffee, our morning ritual, that we thank God for-worth every penny! Thank you for this gift to us! Merry Christmas!
