Roast: Medium

Organic & Ethically Sourced

A well balanced, clean, sweet, round medium roast with notes of cherry, orange and milk chocolate.

While many are familiar with Huehuetenango and the reputation of their specialty coffee, few have ventured to this isolated corner of Guatemala. The rugged terrain of the area has preserved the indigenous heritage, distinct clothing, and dialects that can vary from one mountain ridge to the next.

Asociación Barillense de Agricultores (ASOBAGRI) has become an important bridge for these local coffee farmers to the international specialty coffee community. This cooperative is one of the most sophisticated and well organized in the world.  They have over 1,400 members, spread across 80 communities, who cultivate and harvest their own coffee on small farms with their own micro-mills. ASOBAGRI is also committed to promoting gender equality throughout the organization.

Not a bad bean in the bag

In all honesty, our favorite coffee from St Lawrence Valley Roasters varies from day to day. Today it's the Guatemala, tomorrow the Kenya, or our new favorite, the Columbia Tulima Volcano. Let's just say the road to great coffee started the day I stumbled into Jernabi and met Tim. And I am happy to report the nephews have continued to roast incredible coffee and provide outstanding service. Our favorite? Pick one.....Guatemala, Kenya, Columbia or Papua New Guinea........no matter which one you do, you won't find a bad bean in the bag.

Best coffee ever

I had this once forever ago but had forgotten where my friend said they got it. Found in a shop and second I had it again made me smile. This is by far my favorite blend and will always buy more.

My favorite

So smooth and delicious. I don’t like super dark roasted bitter beans and usually buy light roast, but these ones are perfectly done.
