flores "komodo dragon" wet hulled
about flores "komodo dragon" wet hulled
if you like sumatran or indonesian coffees, you should try this low acidity, sweet and full-bodied coffee.
"komodo dragon" comes to us all the way from the bajawa district of flores, an indonesian island that's home to its namesake.
it's processed via the ngura ("wet-hulled") method, practiced only in indonesia.
in the typical washed process, beans are dried by the farmer, often for a period of months. wet hulled coffees are dried only to around 50% moisture content over a period of hours, then shipped to a processor to have the coffee's hull removed while still wet. hence, wet-hulled.
wet-hulling mutes acidity and brings out body strength. if you enjoy indonesian or sumatran coffees, expect the qualities that make those great to be even more pronounced in this unique single origin.
